Focus

Countdown to 2010-
Only 32 Days Left-

Have you ever noticed that when you try really hard to avoid something... it seems to happen? The key here is that you are focusing on something and the universe doesn't know the difference or the reason why...so it gives it to you. The more you resist...the more it persists.

The key here is to focus on what you want and NEVER what you don't want. Plain and simple.
So first thing in the morning...set your intention for the day. Focus on what you want, not what you don't want. Throughout your day keep your thoughts aligned with your morning intentions and right before you go to sleep set your intention for the next day.

As we wind down the year...begin to focus on what you want for 2010. See it, then FEEL the feelings associated with your desire and bring in all your senses. Let the experience penetrate through your entire body as if it is already happening.
Focus on perfect health, prosperity, peace, wealth, and divine guidance. Imagine and feel it.
Remember, what you focus on expands.

It Boils Down to Feelings...

COUNTDOWN TO 2010-- 28 days left-

We think we want possessions, a relationship, or a particular job but what we really want is the feeling we associate with each one of those things.

It is time to REFLECT back on 2009 and take the time to write down the areas of your life you would like to improve. Start looking at each one and write them down. Then take it one step farther and write down the feeling attached to each one.

So if in 2009
-You were in an unsatisfying relationship- (feeling lonely), heading into 2010 you want a satisfying relationship- (want to feel loved)
-You lost money in real estate or other financial investments- (feeling fearful), heading into 2010 you want to make better financial decisions (want to feel secure)
-You were unhappy at work or in your profession ( feeling unsatisfied), heading in 2010 you want to find a more suitable job or start a new profession (want to feel fulfilled).

You need to know where you want to go and examine it closely so you can design and create a plan to get you there. Anyone who puts this off is going to live a life of regrets later- PLAN 2010 NOW!

The most important thing about goals is having one...-Geoffrey Abert

Contrast

Countdown to 2010-

Have you ever noticed that right in the middle of a really great experience something extremely challenging will appear out of blue?
Yeap, something really good and something really unpleasant is happening at exactly the same time.
I noticed this pattern in my own life in my twenties when the same year I was getting married my Dad was also dying of cancer.
Contrast is necessary and these experiences happen to every one of us.
Without experiencing the "bad" stuff you would have no reference, no way to distinguish the "good" stuff. One is nothing without the other so therefore both must exist.
Opposites teach us some of the strongest and most profound lessons in life. We usually can figure out what we don't want before we can figure out what we do want.
As you have these experiences start to ask...What am I suppose to learn from this? How can I become a better person? These extreme patterns exist and it is how we process and grow from them at the end of the day that is going to determine whether we live a charmed life or a miserable one (hmmm....once again two extremes but this one you actually get to choose)

Wishing you a Blissful day!

The 5 Questions

Countdown to 2010

Who, What, Where, When and How. If you sense that something is missing in your life but not exactly sure what it is then start by asking questions that start with these big 5. Remember, you will never find the answer to a question you never ask.

So what exactly does that mean? If you start by asking these types of questions -your life will shift:
1.) Who am I? Who do I want to be? Who are the most important people in my life?
2.) What do I really want? What do I need to do today to accomplish my goals? What steps do I need to take?
3.) Where do I need to go to today (physically, mentally, spiritually)?
4.) When do I need to......?
4.) How am I going to .......?

As you approach the end of the year and start preparing for 2010, it is time to roll up your sleeves and dig inside your heart and soul to determine who you really are and what you really want out of your life.

Let's finish the year strong and build momentum heading into 2010!

Clarity, Vision and Focus

Countdown to 2010- Day 48-

Are you crystal clear about your goals? If you don't know where- exactly where- you are going then you are never going to get there. As we approach the end of the year it is time to get really serious about our goals.

Time to go get a 2010 calendar if you haven't already and start planning NEXT year right now. In the past, I always made my New Year's Resolutions on Jan 1st. Almost everyone does. Ask yourself what sets the top 10% apart from the other 90%. Be part of the 10%- Plan your 2010 right NOW!

I keep one large journal and list all my New Year's resolutions, every year, in the same journal. It is enlightening to pull out the book and compare one year after another. You get to see the whole picture that way. I have kept this book for 5 years and almost everything in my journal came true. Writing down your goals and getting clarity around what they are will help guide you towards them. It is a critical first step that you can't skip.

We are not going to wind down and disregard the last month of the year as a time when "nothing gets done" because of the holidays. Let's reverse it and get laser beam focused.

Non-Judgment

Countdown to 2010- Day 45

How many times do you compare yourself to someone else? Do you ever catch yourself making a judgment about another person? We all do it, but can we stop?

It really all starts with becoming mindful and paying attention when it happens. Perhaps someone looks very different, has a different kind of lifestyle or personality- if you become aware of those thoughts as they creep in then you have the chance to make a conscious choice about the direction of those thoughts.

Once you make the commitment to dismiss judgement from your life, then you can practice different techniques to find one that sticks. Personally, I like to send love and blessings to the other person or situation. Even if I see someone who is behaving unkindly I remind myself that I can not see what lies beneath the surface and just send blessings their way.
When I catch myself going off course like we all do, I turn inward and ask for guidance and strength.

It is time to practice patience, practice acceptance and practice purifying our thoughts as we move closer to living our best lives together in peace and harmony as ONE.

The Subconscious Mind

Countdown to 2010-Day 44-
You can bring unlimited power, wealth, health, happiness, and peace into your life if you can tap into your subconscious mind.
How can you learn the right techniques and gain insight into your deeper mind?

First, you have to expand your conscious mind and sharpen your awareness. You must realize that although you have only one mind- two distinct functions exist. Next, you become mindful of the individual steps, techniques, and processes that are available to help you tap into your subconscious mind. One of my favorite books is The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. He shares lots of great information and practical tools to use.

You plant seeds (thoughts) into your subconscious mind all day- and you get to decide what they are. Based on your habitual thinking you create your reality. If you consciously replace all negative thoughts with positive ones then you begin to reprogram your subconscious mind.

This will take a serious commitment on your part and it is work that needs to be practiced throughout the day- everyday. Every time you start to make a negative statement if you can catch yourself and reverse it, then you will start to see an amazing shift in your life.

Within your subconscious mind lies infinite resources and all the answers. If you think good thoughts, good will follow.

Meditation

Countdown to 2010-Day 47-

Do you have a daily meditation practice? It is called a "practice" for a reason. Like anything else, the more you do it, the better you become at it and mediation is no different.

The single most powerful tool that I personally use in my own life is meditation. Of course, there are so many different interpretations but if you can sit quietly without any distraction for as little as 15 minutes at a time you will receive enormous benefit.

I can immediately sense if someone has a meditation practice or not by the way they carry themselves and the energy that bounces off of them. People that meditate have a peaceful aura and seem to be more grounded.

Meditation is something I crave and look forward to each and everyday. You will grow to love the experience too.

If you find that you make excuses like you don't have time to meditate then that only means that you need it that much more.
Push through the resistance and start today. Your world will change and become fuller, richer, clearer and more rewarding.

Congruency

Countdown to 2010-Day 43-

Do your thoughts match your feelings, align with your words and consistent with your actions? You know if they do because your life is balanced and has a certain rhythm that feels just right.

If things are not lining up the way you planned it may be time to take a look at what area needs work. You can think the right thoughts but without the matching feeling you won't get the outcome you desire. Furthermore, if you have your thoughts, feelings, and words lined up but don't take action then you will also fall short.

As you fine tune your life's master plan, remember to take a close at your alignment. Remember, your car can still go from one location to the other but if it is out of alignment than the ride is not nearly as smooth as it could be.

The Power of Prayer

Countdown to 2010- Day 42-

I didn't always dedicate time each and every day to prayer but I certainly do now. I sorta blend my meditation and prayer time together and do them both as often as I can throughout the day.

Morning is an extremely powerful time and regardless of how hectic your life is, this is the time to make time. It is my belief that there just can't be any cutting corners here. I choose to start my prayer time as soon as I feel myself waking up and way before I get out of bed. I quietly say 5-15 minutes of prayers to myself and then get up for my "official mediation".

I start with something like; Thank you for this glorious day. With love and gratitude I ask the Divine to guide and protect me. Shield me and my loved ones with love, light, and peace throughout the day. Guide me throughout the day and lead me in the direction of the greatest and highest good for all. Show me where to go, show me what to do, show me what to say and to who. Then I say a special prayer for individuals in my life that are in the midst of difficult challenges and I send love and blessings to all people around the world, humanity as a whole, and our entire planet.

As I continue my day, if things get a little dicy then I quietly pull my car over, shut the door in my office, or find a park bench and spend 5 minutes reconnecting with a simple prayer asking for strength, guidance, and clarity.

I believe that prayer should be part of our daily practice.

Non-Attachment

Countdown to 2010- Day 41-

You come here with nothing and you leave with nothing. The dash in between becomes the story of your life.

Our bodies are on loan to us so we can have individual experiences and learn our lessons while we are here. Part of that experience is the ability to own material objects We are really just borrowing them temporarily and sooner or later must let go of them. Our purpose is not to possess or collect these things. When we de-tach from all the stuff, the materials things lose their power and we get in touch with the power inside of us.

Once you melt away the desire to collect and posses material things, then you become free of other stuff too. You release all of those thoughts which creates new space to add thoughts of joy, peace, and compassion for others. The old thoughts leave you feeling empty and unsatisfied once the initial high wears off. The new thoughts bring a sense of freedom and fulfillment. It is not easy to get there but you can.

I started a practice many years ago that I continue to this day. Whenever someone tells me they love something I own, I give it to them. I also gave away most of my possessions once my youngest son left for college and decided at that point to only own what I actually needed- 2-3 coffee cups, towels, etc. An amazing thing happens once you get rid of all that "stuff". You gain clarity and focus in all other areas of your life.

Non-attachment also relates to the expectations for our lives, the wants and desires of other people , and for specific outcomes in general. We can set an intention, say a prayer, and take action but then you have to let go and detach from the end result. If we get wrapped up in the future, then we are no longer living in the present moment.

I recently became certified as a yoga teacher and was intrigued with the official definition of "yoga". The meaning of yoga is non-attachment. It is my desire that each one of you will experience this. I know I want to keep this sacred meaning front and center in my own life.

Conscious Eating

Countdown to 2010-Day 40-

Do you really think about the food you eat ? Where does it come from and what impact do your choices really have? You know intellectually what you should be eating but you block out the information so you can justify your food decisions.

The time has come to finally think about the food we eat; each bite...at every meal. Time to think about where our food comes from, how it is made and what the labels actually say.

Think about the saying "You are what you eat". Every choice that you make will either take you closer to your health goal or further away. On top of that, your food choices effect the entire planet. So instead of mindlessly eating, maybe it is time to take a serious look at what we eat and start making choices that are good for the environment, good for your health, and good for your soul.

Quieting The Mind

Countdown to 2010- Day 39

Preparing the mind so that you can uncover your HEART’S desire and let your true DESTINY emerge is the golden key. It may take some PRACTICE but I believe it is critical to your LONG term success. So where do you start?

BEFORE you can soak up the ENORMOUS amount of new information that will bring you closer to living your BEST life ~you better grab the cleaning supplies and get ready to remove the old COBWEBS. Reciting affirmations, reading all day long and writing until your hand hurts won’t do the trick unless the SPACE is available~ an OPENING– to propel you to your HIGHEST and greatest PURPOSE. It all starts with QUIETING the mind and RELEASING the blocks (those toxic blocks that exist in all of us) so that space can open and your NEW destiny can EMERGE.

If you have been MEDITATING, practicing YOGA, or engaging in a MINDFULNESS practice then this might be familiar terrain. If not, you can START today by taking SMALL steps and building a routine QUIETING THE MIND” practice. I suggest you start slowly by LOCATING that special place that FEELS right to you and then going to that SPOT (a tree, mountaintop, beach or cozy room in your own home) and practice being totally PRESENT. Answering the following questions might help you connect to the “NOW” and pick your special spot.

1.) Where do I spend time that I feel connected to (think about a location)?
1.) What do I enjoy about being there?
2.) How do I feel when I am __________ (at the beach, under a tree, etc) ?

The next step is go to that SPOT~ (you may want to pick somewhere that you can get to easily EVERYDAY…perhaps start with a park bench, tree, or room in your house)

CLOSE your eyes- follow your BREATHE. Sit comfortably for 5-10 minutes. Your mind may wander and a stream of THOUGHTS may pass (at lightening speed) WATCH them without judgment and then ask you INNER self to bring your thoughts back to the BREATHE. I started this practice just sitting in my CAR but parked under a TREE with my sun roof open (that works for me when I can’t actually sit under the tree directly).

COMMIT to this routine for 30 DAYS in the beginning and then build from there. You
will notice that you will LOVE this time and begin to look forward to it. You will also NOTICE that as the weeks pass you are able to RELEASE some of your old ATTACHMENTS and BELIEFS. Be an OBSERVER of your own MIND- sit QUIETLY and OBSERVE. Quieting the mind allows the quiet STILL voice to emerge and when it does you may hear a WHISPER revealing your own true DESTINY.

Random Acts of Kindness

Countdown to 2010- Day 36-
How can you bring more JOY into your life?

We can sprinkle JOY into the lives of others and then watch the JOY circle back around and
land directly back into our own life.
Wow...does this really happen? Yes...it actually does and if you are skeptical just try it and see what happens.

Life does give us back exactly what we intentionally and unintentionally think, do, and are to others. The reason why many people do not realize this universal principle is because of the dimension of time. It could take years or lifetimes before the lesson circles back around to us and we don't always connect the dots.

So where do you start if you truly want to make a difference in the lives of others.
You start with small, easy to take steps beginning with random acts of kindness.
Here a just a few suggestions:
1.) Smile at everyone you see and make it a point to smile lovingly at anyone who appears to be having a bad day.
2.) Ask someone a question, then engage them in a conversation you know will make them feel good.
3.) Seek out opportunities where you can offer a hand- open a door for someone, offer a parking attendant a bottle of water or pay the toll for someone behind you on the highway.
4.) Let someone go ahead of you in line at the grocery store or the bank.
5.) Send out secret blessings to people you see throughout the day, especially someone who is impatient, appears angry, or seems agitated.

Set an intention at the beginning of the day to perform an random act of kindness. If you want to feel good, make someone else feel good.

Blessings and Gratitude,
Wendi

Write it Down

Countdown to 2010- Day 38-

If you are looking to tap into your CREATIVE side and live your highest, truest potential then grab a NOTEBOOK and a PEN and start writing.

You may want to start by keeping a smaller notebook in your purse, car, or briefcase. Then every time you hear a conversation that interests you...WRITE down the interesting points...start making NOTES. Don't worry if it doesn't follow a theme or have a specific purpose, just WRITE.

Keep a notebook in your car and if you hear an interview on the radio, a thought pops in your head, or you see something that catches your attention...WRITE IT DOWN.

You will begin to notice what EXCITES you most and will be drawn to specific subjects. When you write you will find it enjoyable as you think about those topics. The WRITING will become your time to CONNECT to your SOUL and you will NOTICE that the more you write, the more you will ENJOY writing. Then something amazing will happen. You will start to notice you have a heightened AWARENESS of what makes you PASSIONATE and you will start to SEEK it out.

As you write in your JOURNAL or notebook your senses will sharpen and you will SEE clearer and you will HEAR deeper. I invite you to try it for yourself.

One more SMALL step that each of us can take as we create our DESTINY together.

Visualization

Countdown to 2010- Day 37 -

So how do you use VISUALIZATION to create your best life? There are many techniques that can be effective but I will share with you the steps I personally use to manifest in my own life. I BELIEVE everyone can transform their life when they have a strong desire, faith and take action.

CLOSE your physical eyes and open your MIND’S EYE (the third eye known also known as your intuition). You can do this practice anywhere at anytime. You may want to try first thing in the MORNING and then again right before going to BED.

1.) Start by offering GRATITUDE and LOVE…(I believe this is an important step)
2.) Next I use an AFFIRMATION that begins like this “ It is my strongest heart’s desire…(and finish the statement with your intention…)
3.) Then I bring a picture in my mind’s eye of the outcome I desire…I visualize the end result FIRST
4.) I keep that vivid PICTURE in my thoughts as long as I can (some days it is easy and some days it is more challenging) but when other thoughts pop in my mind…I KINDLY ask them to leave and return back to my desired picture.
5.) I bring in all the EMOTIONS that I feel seeing this picture in my mind- all the joy, peace, love, and GRATITUDE.
My GREATEST heart’s desire is to SHARE this process with others. I BELIEVE these techniques fused with PASSION can help shape a NEW WORLD. They certainly have changed my own world….I invite you to experience the POWER of visualization and create your OWN true DESTINY.

Surrender and Let Go-

Countdown to 2010- Day 35-

LET GO and RELEASE into the FLOW

Have you ever wanted something so much that you put all your energy into it and it didn’t happen? What about something that you focused on so that it wouldn’t happen and it did?

We mindfully put our intentions out into the universe, focus on them and even take action steps toward achieving them so what happens when something doesn’t go our way?

Is it possible to try “too hard”? I believe the key ingredient – the one that dissolves roadblocks…creates miracles….and allows your strongest desires to flow to you is the ability to SURRENDER…release…and let it go.

Here are a few TECHNIQUES to try that have been very helpful in my own life:

1.) Repeat AFFIRMATIONS~I say the following: I surrender and let go of anything that does not serve me as I move closer towards my greatest & highest purpose.
2.) Practice a RITUAL- I go to the beach and visualize my desire being released and surrendered into the flow of the water….I picture my hopes and desires as waves coming in and then going back out into the vast sea of beautiful blue water.
3.) WRITE it out- Take out a piece of paper and write out the following: I surrender and release____________. This can be a very effective tool.
4.) Head out for a WORKOUT and recite your affirmations- saying quieting to yourself over and over again. I release and surrender____________ while you are on the treadmill, stairmaster, or bike. Connecting your MIND and BODY while working out is powerful.
5.) Get an old fashioned TAPE recorder and make a RECORDING of your affirmation and play it right before going to sleep. As I drift into sleep I am releasing and surrendering my thoughts about _____________ to the Universe.

Many Blessing of PEACE, LOVE, AND LIGHT to all!

The Sound of Music

Countdown to 2010- Day 34-

When is your favorite time to listen to music? Whether you play your favorite tunes in the car, gym, or in the shower, all that matters is that you make music a part of your day.

Music is a powerful way to connect. I love to go to a concert when the entire audience is standing up to sing and dance the whole time. YouTube has made access to a variety of new artists and their music much easier and less expensive.

So as we get closer to the end of the year...let's make music a priority. It gives us energy, wakes up our senses and gives us a little slice of heaven right here on earth.

Turn off the Switch

Countdown to 2010- Day 32-
Do you automatically reach for the remote control when you walk into the house. Time to take a break and turn off the switch. Although I rarely watched TV, two years ago I made a decision to say goodbye to television completely. When I turned off the television something magical happened, all my senses came alive.

It will feel strange at first since most people are addicted to the noise playing in the background. We use TV to keep us company when we are alone. It takes some time to make the adjustment and get used to the beautiful sound of silence. You won't miss anything, trust me, you will still hear everything you need to know.

Try it for one week and write back and let us know how it is going. If you still can't do it completely, at least try banning the news!
